Using curved supports
If it is necessary to make a curve in a particular position or if it is not possible to tie the pipe to any
support, use of a curved support (optional - picture
17
) is recommended for diameters of 1/2” and
5/8”.
1.
Slightly cut into the insulation with a cutter or scissors (not included - picture
18
);
Caution! Do not damage FastPipe
®
with excessively deep incisions.
2.
Open the insulation along the incision (picture
19
);
3.
Place
FastPipe
®
near one of the ends of the curved support and insert it by applying light pressure
(picture
20
);
4.
Let
FastPipe
®
travel along the rest of the curve and then insert it on the support, exerting slight
pressure (pictures
21
and
22
);
It is recommended to insert the pipe on the support with a longitudinal force along the tube
(picture
23
)
.
5.
Wrap the insulation around
FastPipe
®
again (picture
24
);
6.
Wrap the insulation with the
anti-UV protective tape
provided to restore the seal of the insulation
(picture
25
).
Inserting and crimping the fitting:
Caution: a electric screwdriver (not included) is required for this operation.
1.
Wear the supplied SuperGrip gloves;
2.
Install the bit with the appropriate diameter on the screwdriver;
3.
Move the insulation away to make enough space to grasp the end of
FastPipe
®
with one hand
(picture
26
);
4.
Grasp
FastPipe
®
firmly, as shown in picture
27
;
5.
Insert the calibrator (or the calibration cross) of the correct diameter into the tube, and rotate the
tool various times (picture
28
);
The calibrator must be inserted as far as it will go.
The calibration operation takes at least 10 seconds.
6.
Set the screwdriver to minimum speed;
The screwdriver must be operated at minimum speed to ensure maximum available torque.
7.
Fit the nut and the insert onto the tool (picture
29
);
8.
Place the bushing on
FastPipe
®
(picture
30
);
9.
Hold
FastPipe
®
firmly and screw the insert in until it can go no further (picture
31
);
Caution! Do not continue screwing the insert after it has come to a stop on the bushing as
this may damage FastPipe
®
.
10.
Unhook the fitting from the bit by unscrewing the nut;
11.
After installing the correct diameter die on the crimping tool, proceed with crimping. This operation
is described in the paragraph “Crimping the fitting”
on page 22.
6.
If there are sharp bends near the fittings, it is advisable to tie the tube to a suitable support so as not
to stress the fitting with unnecessary forces and to extend the lifespan of the Product.
