4.3.1 Assembly
(See attached image A4)
Follow the instructions below to assemble the parts
that are supplied disassembled.
• If present, position and fix the support rod (1) after
inserting the lifting system (2).
• If present, install the balancer (3) (Refer to the
balancer manual provided in the attachment).
• Connect the gun to the balancer.
4.3.2 Power supply
The machine is supplied with a power cable to be
connected.
A plug compatible with the provisions given in the
"Technical Data” attachment must be fitted to the
power cable.
Before connecting the machine, make sure that the
mains voltage corresponds to that indicated on the
plate.
CAUTION
The machine can only be used at the
voltage indicated on the plate and is not
designed to be set to other voltages.
Ensure that the electrical circuit protective conductor
is in good condition and compliant with current
regulations.
The supply voltage is given in the "Technical data”
attachment.
It is not advisable to use extension cables unless
absolutely necessary.
CAUTION
The spot welder is not designed to be
powered by generators.
4.3.3 Compressed air supply
The compressed air supply is given in the “Technical
specifications” attachment.
The air must be clean and free of oil and condensate.
Be aware of the minimum diameter of the pipes, as
given in "Technical Specifications" attachment.
4.3.4 Filling the cooling system tank
Fill the tank with a mixture consisting of water and
antifreeze liquid in a measure of 10-20% of the total
volume.
WARNING
When filling and/or topping up the
coolant, always take the greatest care to
use perfectly clean containers.
The antifreeze liquid must contain ethylene glycol
in a concentration of 50% and corrosion inhibiting
additives.
WARNING
To prevent freezing of the mixture inside
the tank in environments with lower
temperatures, a higher percentage of
antifreeze fluid should be used.
Follow the antifreeze manufacturer’s
instructions to determine the amount
to be used in relation to the expected
freezing temperature.
The following table shows an example for the supplied
antifreeze liquid (50% glycol).
Freezing
temperature
Percentage of liquid
50% glycol antifreeze
0 °C / 32 °F
0 %
-2 °C / 28 °F
8 %
-5 °C / 23 °F
18 %
-10 °C / 14 °F
36 %
-15 °C / 5 °F
54 %
-20 °C / -4 °F
68 %
CAUTION
Increasing the percentage of ethylene
glycol will reduce the performance of the
machine as it reduces the effectiveness of
the cooling system.
WARNING
All liquids containing glycol must be
disposed of in full compliance with current
environmental protection regulations.
