Independently of whether you have switched the automatic
softweare updating function on or off, each time you switch
the receiver off it will check automatically whether a new ver-
sion of the operating software for your digital receiver is avai-
lable. If new operating software is available, this will be indi-
cated by an on-screen message the next time you switch on
the receiver
(Fig. 8-32) .
To start the software update, follow the instructions on the
screen.
8.5.4.1 Starting a software download manually
To start the update of the software manually, proceed as fol-
lows:
> As described above, call up the menu Update soft-
ware .
The receiver weill now establish automatically whether
a new version of the software is available.
> If a new version of the software is available, mark the
field
Start update , and confirm by pressing OK .
Your receiver will then proceed to download the soft-
ware.
8.5.5 Copying settings
You have the facility to copy all the settings such as program-
me list, antenna settings, etc. of your digital receiver (source,
transmitter) to another digital receiver (target, receiver) of the
same type, and equipped with the same version of operating
software.

> To do this, connect the two receivers by means of a
null modem cable.
> Switch on the target receiver.
> To copy the settings, press any key on the panel of
the source receiver.
The settings of the source receiver will now be trans-
ferred to the target receiver. Please note any messa-
ges displayed on screen.
8.6 System configuration
This menu item allows you to see the specific receiver unit
data (e.g. the current software version).
>
Use the arrow keys up/down to mark this line in
the sub-menu Settings .
> Confirm by pressing OK .
> Press the Menu key to return to normal operation.
