Scan Mode - Menu: SCM
The channel scan has two different modes available that determine how long
the scan function pauses on a frequency when a signal has been detected.
Menu Sq (Squelch):
The scan function pauses and remains on the channel until the signal ends.
After an additional 10 seconds delay time, scanning resumes.
Menu Ti (Time):
The scan function pauses for 10 seconds and continues scanning, regardless
if a signal is present or not.
Hi-Cut Frequency Filter - Menu: HI.CUT
This frequency filter cuts the high frequencies of the receive-signal. This might
improve the sound quality in some cases.
Microphone Sensitivity - Menu: MICSET
The feature allows to adjust the microphone sensitivity on a scale between
1-9. The s-meter indicates the selected sensitivity level. Select a level, press
the PTT key, talk into the microphone and check the level at the s-meter.
To exit this function, long press the menu key [EMG] (6); you cannot exit this
function by pressing the PTT key.
Microphone Type - Menu: MIC TP
This radio can be operated with an electret (
EL
) or a dynamic (
dy
) micro-
phone. The scope of delivery includes an electret microphone and the function
is preset to EL.
VOX Sensitivity (VOX) - Menu: VOX L
The VOX sensitivity sets the threshold for the required signal strength that
triggers activation of the transmission mode. Set the VOX sensitivity, depend-
ing on the distance to the microphone, the background noises and the signal
strength in a range between 1-9. The most sensitive level is
9
.
VOX Delay (VOX) - Menu: VOX T
Once the signal ends, the radio remains in transmission mode for a certain
time. This delay time can be set on a scale between 1-9.
Tx-Signal Audible (Talkback) - Menu: TALBAK
Make the transmit signal audible in the speaker with the talkback function. Set
the volume level on a scale between 1 - 9.
Audio Noise Limiter / Noise Blanker (ANL/NB) - Menu: ANL/NB
Noises caused by frequency interferences due to the vehicle’s ignition system
can be reduced with the noise blanker, while the audio noise limiter reduces
noises from amplitude impulses and peaks.
RF Gain - Menu: RFGAIN
If the received signal is too strong, e.g. due to close proximity, it will be
distorted. The RF gain feature reduces the signal sensitivity. The higher the
value, the lower the signal’s sensitivity.
Roger Beep - Menu: ROGBP
The automatic roger beep, which is transmitted automatically once the trans-
mission key [PTT] is released, confirms the end of the signal. There are 6
different tone sequences available.
Background Color - Menu: COLOR
For the LCD, there are seven different background colors available.
Dim - Menu: BRIGHT
Adjust the background color brightness with six different levels.
Time-Out-Timer - Menu: TOTSET
The time-out-timer limits the transmission time. Once the set time expires,
transmission is automatically aborted. This feature can be turned off.
Priority Channel 1 / 2 - Menu: EMG1 and EMG2
To quickly access the priority channel 1, press the priority key [EMG] once; to
get to the priority channel 2, press the key twice and to return to the original
channel, press the key a third time.
You can change the preset of both priority channels.
Reset - Menu: RESET
To reset the radio to the factory preset (look out for * (asterix) in the following
table), select the function, press the menu key [EMG] (6) shortly (the symbol
RESET will blink) and confirm by long-pressing the menu key [EMG] (6).
