1. Make sure the key-switch is in the “OFF”
position, then remove
the key.
2. Place the forward-reverse switch in the center “OFF” position.
3. Set the park brake.
4. Place blocks under the rear wheels to prevent vehicle movement.
5. Disconnect the main positive and negative cables at the batteries.

Remove the floorboard.
7. Release the park brake.
8. Depress the treadle by hand so that all play is removed
from the slip connector and clamp the throttle rod in
position. The throttle arm should still be against the
throttle stop.
9. Loosen both brake rod jam nuts and adjust the brake
rod so that there is no play in the brake linkages.
Move the equalizer back and forth while adjusting to
ensure all play is removed. Adjust be hand, do not
use a wrench.
10. Tighten the brake rod an additional ½ turn and remove
the clamp from the throttle rod.
Note: If you have reached the end of the threads on the
brake rod, then move the left and right brake linkages
to the secondary adjustment holes. There are two
sets of holes on each linkage.
11. Push the vehicle back and forth a few feet. When the
treadle is
gently
released, the throttle arm should
be contacting the throttle stop and there should be
no more than 1/16” clearance at the slip connector.
The back of the treadle should about level with the
floorboard.
a. If not within specification then loosen or tighten
the brake rod 1/8 turn at a time until within
specification.
12. Tighten both brake rod jam nuts.
13. Adjust the parking brake.
14.
Install the floorboard.
15. Reconnect the main positive and negative cables at
the batteries.
16. Remove blocks from behind the wheels.
17. Release the park brake and test drive the vehicle.
