3. USE OF THE MIXER
Before using the mixer the operator should:
•
be well instructed on how to operate the mixer.
•
be informed about the dangers involved in the use of the mixer, and the safety measures to avoid
them.
•
be informed about the safety measures in order to protect personnel and things that should not be
done while operating the mixer.
The use of this mixer by instructed operators, respecting the standards and indications
included in this manual will prolong the life of the machine and prevent problems.
3.1. START UP
Follow these steps to start up the mixer:
1. Check the external condition of the mixer and the condition of the different systems, guards, and
safety protections.
In case any of the guards and safety protections is deteriorated or broken,
immediately repair or change the piece before beginning to work with the mixer
2. Hitch the mixer to a tractor with the necessary power output. In section number 5 of this manual,
there is a table that gives the necessary operating power as a function of mixer capacity. To hitch
the mixer, follow these steps:

Back the tractor up to the mixer drawbar.
Make sure that no one is between the tractor and the mixer while backing the
tractor up to the mixer's drawbar.
▪
Use the front jack to adjust the height of the drawbar.
▪
Use the appropriate blockage mechanisms to hitch the mixer to the tractor.
Use work gloves when handling the mixer and tractor hitching components.
3. Completely fold up the front jack to prevent contact with obstacles while moving.
4. Stop the tractor.
5. To connect the PTO shaft to the power takeoff, follow these steps:

Check that the mixer was hooked up correctly.
▪
Make sure the tractor’s power takeoff is stopped. .
