The following settings are required:
Down Frequency Enter the transponder frequency in MHz.
Symbol Rate The transponder's symbol rate must be known. It determines the
number of TV and radio stations that can be transmitted. Enter the
symbol rate in Msps (Million scannings per second).
Polarity Specify the polarity (horizontal or vertical).
Channel Name Press to enter a name for the channel. In the windows that
appears you can enter a name as described on page 22.
Video PID PID means "packet identifier". The video PID is a three- to four-digit
number determining the channel to be received from the transponder.
This is only required for TV stations as the video PID is only used for
the picture signal. For radio broadcasts leave the setting AUTO.
Audio PID Here you can specify the PID for the audio signal.
PCR PID PCR means "program clock recovery" and is required for
synchronising the audio data with the video (picture) data. Enter the
three- or four-digit PCR PID into this field.
Smart Search
Smart Search is similar to the Antenna Setup menu (see also page 44 - Finding the
Satellite). Please consult that chapter for details. In addition to the settings contained in the
Antenna Setup menu, you can also set the Symbol Rate here (see also page 58 –
Advanced Scan). The available settings for the symbol rate are:
