Battery use and maintenance
The COMET’s battery is uniquely designed to provide the
longest possible duration. As with any battery, however,
prolonged use will require the battery to be recharged.
To prolong battery use, use the brightness push-buttons
(
Fn + F9
) on the integrated keyboard to reduce the
brightness of, and the power consumption by, the LCD.
Battery shutdown
If your COMET shutdowns because of low battery
power, simply plug in the AC adapter and restart to
resume your session in the same state as it was before
shutdown.
NOTE:
Battery status is indicated by the Power LED. The
faster the Power LED flashes, the lower the battery charge is.
Battery charging
When the AC adapter is plugged in, the system automati-
cally begins charging the battery. If an over 140º F
(60º C) temperature condition occurs while charging the
battery, the process will be stopped. If the battery tem-
perature falls below 122º F (50º C), the system will
resume the battery charging process.
