Restarting via the serial console
The Symantec Network Security 7100 Series provides a way to restart appliance
nodes using the serial console. You must have secadm access to restart
Symantec Network Security on the serial console. Restarting includes the
Symantec Network Security software and enables you to address an intermittent
problem.
To restart Symantec Network Security from the serial console

Connect your laptop or other serial device to the appliance with the serial
console cable.

Using a serial terminal application, login to the appliance as
secadm
.

Type the command:
restart
Rebooting nodes via the serial console
The Symantec Network Security 7100 Series provides a way to reboot appliance
nodes using the serial console. You must have secadm access to reboot the
