Managing incident and event data
Note:
All users can configure Symantec Network Security to email top-level
incident data. See
“User groups reference”
on page 319 for more about
permissions.
Emailing incident data
You can send detailed information about each incident via email using the
Incidents tab.
To email incident data

In the Network Security console, click the
Incidents
tab.

Right-click an incident row, and click
.

To send the email without modification, do one of the following:

Click
Send Directly > in HTML Format
to send an email in HTML
format. Make sure to configure email first.
■
Click
Send Directly > in Text Format
to send an email in plain text
format. Make sure to configure email first.

To edit the email before sending it, do one of the following:
■
Click
Compose > in HTML Format
to send an email in HTML format.
■
Click
Compose > in Text Format
to send an email in plain text format.

To select a specific browser or mail client, do one of the following:
■
Click
Through Browser,
and paste the incident content into the body of
the email.
■
Click
Through Mail Client,
and paste the incident content into the body
of the email.
Note:
The Network Security console and the software or appliance node
may not use the same SMTP mail server. Setting the SMTP Server
notification parameter does not necessarily affect the SMTP mail server
referenced in this procedure.

Send
.
