9 Maintenance and care
9.1 Cleaning and care
NOTICE! Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical
solutions as they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.
Remove dust from the solar panel.
9.2 Replacing the rechargeable battery
Replace the rechargeable battery if the illumination time reduces significantly.
Important:

Ensure sure no moisture enters the product.

Never use a normal, non-rechargeable battery.
Preconditions:

You have: 1x Ni-MH rechargeable battery, 1.2 V, 600 mAh, type AA
1. (If switched on) set the switch
ON/OFF
to
OFF
to switch off.
2. Remove the standpipe from the lamp base.
3. Turn the lamp base in a counter-clockwise direction to remove it from
the lamp head.
4. Follow the shown diagram to replace the old battery with the new re-
chargeable battery. Observe the correct polarity.
5. Assemble the product again in reverse order.

Charge the rechargeable battery before using the light.
10 Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the
household waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accord-
ance with applicable regulatory guidelines.
Remove any inserted (rechargeable) batteries and dispose of them separately
from the product. You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to
return all used (rechargeable) batteries. Disposing of them in the household
waste is prohibited.
Contaminated (rechargeable) batteries are labeled with this symbol to indicate
that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy
metals involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (name on (re-
chargeable) batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
