Inserting the battery pack
Open the battery compart-
ment cover. Connect the plug
leading from the battery pack
to the corresponding socket in
the battery compartment.
Insert the battery pack in the
battery compartment. Only
use the battery pack supplied.
Pay attention that the cable is
not jammed. Close the battery
compartment cover.
Charging the battery pack
Before the handset is used for the first time, insert it in the base
station / charging station for
at least
20 hours.
The handset warms up during the charging process. This is normal and
does not represent a risk. Do not charge the handset with charging units
from other manufacturers. The current
battery charge status
is indicated
in the display:
Full
Half empty
Low
Empty
Setting the time and date on the handset
The time and date are set via the menu. Refer to Page 108 for the
sequence of menu option selections.
Setting the display language
The display language is available in German, English, Italian and French.
Set the language using the menu. Refer to Page 107 for the sequence of
menu option selections.
Auto Answer
If this function is activated, an incoming call is taken when the handset is
removed from the base station. The automatic answering function is acti-
vated and deactivated using the menu. Refer to Page 107 for the se-
quence of menu option selections.
Private branch exchanges
If you want to connect the telephone to a private branch exchange, more
information is provided on Page 105.
Setting the date and time on the answering machine
The date and time are set automatically on the answering machine via the
handset.
Low−radiation operation (ECO mode)
Default setting = ECO Mode

On
Both in Call mode as well as in Standby mode, the radiation is reduced
considerably when ECO mode is activated as compared to standard, cord-
less DECT telephones.
If necessary, you can increase the range of the telephone system
by switching ECO mode off
