The answering machine
The integral answering machine can store up to 60 messages during your absence and 1 memo. The total recoding
capacity is approx. 16 minutes. The answering machine is operated from the base station. Remote interrogation from
another telephone is also possible. For your greeting message, you can use a pre-recorded English standard
message, or you can record your own message. If you have not recorded your own greeting, the standard greeting
will answer automatically.
Before working with the answering machine, you should set the day and time
announcement.
Note:
The answering machine comes with spoken (English) menu navigation. Many programming functions are
associated with verbal instructions in English. However, understanding the English-language menu control is not
essential for operating the answering machine.
7.1
General settings
7.1.1
Setting the day and time announcement (English)
You should now set the day and time announcement so that all incoming messages are stored on the answering
machine with the correct day of the week and the correct time of day.
1.
Press and hold the
on the base station.

Now set the required day of the week using the
and
buttons.
3.
Press the
button and set the current hour using the
and
buttons. Note
the 12-hour format, with AM for morning (display shows A) and PM for afternoon (display shows P).
4.
Press the
button and set the current minute using the

buttons.
5.
Press the
button again. The complete day and time announcement is repeated.

Switching the answering machine on/off
The answering machine can be switched on or off by means of the
ON OFF
button. The indicator light will
illuminate when the answering machine is switched on

7.1.3
Maximum recording time for incoming messages
The integral answering machine can store up to 60 minutes of incoming messages and a memo with a total length of
up to 16 minutes. The maximum length for incoming messages is 2 minutes in each case. If the caller speaks for
longer, a beep is heard and the call is terminated. If there is a pause during recording, the call will automatically be
terminated. No more calls will be answered if the memory capacity for new messages is exhausted, and the display
shows
FU
.
7.1.4
Delaying acceptance of calls
This option can be used to specify after how many rings incoming calls are to be accepted. The factory setting is 6
rings. This number can be changed to between 2 and 9 rings. A setting for toll-free remote pre-access is also
available -
