In order to ensure that the MFL unit continues to function properly,
it must be cleaned regularly.
Maintenance of the MFL is a three level
action plan.
7.1 Level 1 Maintenance
Maintenance of the banknote validator is recommended after 30,000
banknotes or 3 months of use, whichever occurs first.
Validating head
During operation, dust and dirt accumulate on the optical sensors
and the rollers in the validating head. This may result in reduced
acceptance rate or lead to occasional jams. Periodic cleaning and
maintenance of the validating head and the cash box must be
performed for continued operation.
Clean the validating head using the enclosed cleaning card.
The cleaning card is inserted into the banknote validator while it is in
normal acceptance mode. It will clean the sensors, aligning
mechanism and the banknote path on the way in and again on the
way out. The card maybe inserted several times for better results. The
