SATA Ports
Six Serial ATA (SATA) ports (I-SATA
0~5) are located on the serverboard to
provide serial link connections. Serial
Link connections provide faster data
transmission than those of the tradi-
tional Parallel ATA. These SATA ports
are supported by the Intel ICH10R
Chip (South Bridge). See the table on
the right for pin defi nitions.
Floppy Connector
The fl oppy connector is located be-
tween the COM port and FireWire
headers on the motherboard. See the
table on the right for pin defi nitions.
Note the following when connecting
the fl oppy cable:
The fl oppy disk drive cable has
•
seven twisted wires.
A red mark on a wire typically des-
•
ignates the location of pin 1.
A single fl oppy disk drive ribbon
•
cable has 34 wires and two con-
nectors to provide for two fl oppy
disk drives. The connector with
twisted wires always connects to
drive A, and the connector that
does not have twisted wires al-
ways connects to drive B.
