5-5 Processor and Heatsink Installation
Notes:

When changing the CPU in a node, always power down the node
fi
rst and
remove it from the chassis. Make sure that you install the CPU into its socket
before you install the CPU heatsink.
•
If you buy a CPU separately, make sure that you use an Intel-certi
fi
ed multi-
directional heatsink only.
•
When receiving a motherboard without a processor pre-installed, make sure that
the plastic CPU socket cap is in place and none of the socket pins are bent;
otherwise, contact your retailer immediately.
•

Installing an LGA1155 Processor
1. Press the load lever to release the load plate, which covers the CPU socket,
from its locked position.
2. Gently lift the load lever to open the load plate. Remove the plate cap.
