B-1 Overview of the SAS3-216EL1/EL2 Backplanes
The BPN-SAS3-216EL1 and EL2 models consist of a backplane with one or two
expander daughter cards.
The BPN-SAS3-216EL1 model consists of the BPN-SAS3-216EB backplane (X)
and
one BPN-SAS3-216EL primary daughter card (Y), mounted on the right-hand
side of the backplane.
The BPN-SAS3-216EL2 model consists of the BPN-SAS3-216EB backplane (X)
with the primary daughter card mounted on the right (Y) and a secondary daughter
card mounted on the left (Z).
Components on the front side of the BPN-SAS3-216EB backplane include twenty-
four SAS connectors and their respective activity and failure LEDs. Components on
the rear side of the backplane include jumpers and power connectors. The daughter
card components include SAS ports, flash and expander chips.
