Establishing a Network Connection
Use the 10BASE-T network connection to initialize the network addresses and to
administer the disk tray. The IP address was automatically downloaded using the
JumpStart program when you powered on the disk tray.
Note –
Have the Gateway IP address information before beginning this procedure.
Contact the person who maintains your network for this information.
Note –
The telnet session will not connect until the controller LEDs are green.
1. On the host, use the
telnet
command with the disk tray name (or IP address) to
connect to the disk tray.

The telnet session will verify that your network connection is good. If you
cannot connect through the telnet session, see the troubleshooting information in the
Sun StorEdge T3 Disk Tray Administrator’s Guide or the Sun StorEdge Component
Manager User’s Guide to analyze the problem.
