Knowledge of and adherence to
the relevant standards and regu-
lations on application and mounting of
solar modules is necessary for proper
mounting of the solar modules. Such
regulations mainly include the corre-
sponding DIN standards, VDE and
VDEW guidelines. Improper mounting
may not only damage or destruct the
solar module, but may also cause per-
sonal injuries and material damages.

PV modules must be handled
with care while they are being
installed. Knocks on front and rear
sides or corners and edges can dam-
age the module. Damaged modules
must not be used.
The modules must be mounted without
torsion (warping).
Cross-ties, screws and other fastening
elements must be commercially avail-
able and meet the DIN 1055 standard.
In particular, the fastening elements
must be equipped for the easterly wind
and snow forces in accordance with
DIN 1055-4 and 1055-5.
The modules must be fastened in such
a way that melting water and rain
water can flow out freely and the
PV module is not wet for sustained
periods.
