Extending the bed extender (option) (Continued)
CAUTION
• Do not remove the footboard after you extend the bed extender.
• Do not raise the lower leg section while the bed extender is in use. This is to avoid the situation where the product
does not support the lower legs of a taller patient.
The bed extender allows you to extend the length of the product by 31 cm.
To extend the bed extender:
1. Pull and turn each knob 90° to unlock the bed extender ( Figure 1-19 on page 1-33 ).
2. Grasp the footboard handles.
3. Pull the footboard to extend the bed extender ( Figure 1-20 on page 1-33 ).
4. Pull and turn each knob 90° to lock the bed extender into place.
Note: When locking the bed extender, listen for the “click” that indicates that the bed extender is locked. Push and
pull on the footboard to make sure that the bed extender is locked.

Installing the bed extender bolster mattress
For mattress specifications, see the MA series mattress manual.
The recommended bed extender bolster mattresses are:
Compatible bolster mattresses Dimension
7002-4-018 330 mm x 710 mm x 180 mm
7002-4-020 330 mm x 710 mm x 200 mm
7002-4-518 330 mm x 710 mm x 180 mm
7002-4-520 330 mm x 710 mm x 200 mm
To install the bed extender bolster mattress:
1. See Extending the bed extender (option) on page 1-32 .
2. Place the bed extender bolster mattress between the mattress and the footboard.
3. Press down on the bed extender bolster mattress to secure it into place.
