The electric system is divided into three parts: the microprocessor
(CPU,5 V DC), the interface (24 V AC, control voltage) for activating
the relays, valves and for scanning the position-indicator and the
high voltage unit (115-500 V) for supply to the main motor and the
specimen holder gear motor. This is controlled by contactors with
thermal cut-out so that no damage will be caused to the motors by
overloading. If a thermal cut-out stops Abramin, the display panel will
show "ES" or "OL" and restart cannot be effected before the thermal
cut-out has cooled down 3-5 minutes.
The microprocessor circuit board is located vertically behind the
membrane switch board. A 4-digit display with control circuit board is
situated just behind the front plate. The interface circuit board and
the 5 V DC voltage supply are located behind the CPU print. Abramin
is equipped with main cut-off switch, which should only be used for
servicing purposes as the micro-processors memory for the user's
inset programmed data does not have battery back-up. In stead,
Abramin has Stand-by which is controlled by a switch on the front
plate. In case of power failure the user must re-program the
individual steps, which is easy and quickly done on account of the
simple programming procedure.
