5.2 External Output Signal
It is possible to monitor the
SATA Mirror Drive
status externally. The location of the connector is shown
in the figure below.

Status bit connector
External status output is transmitted as a 3-bit signal through the Status Bit connector.
This table shows the pin configurations, status definitions, internal circuitry, electrical specifications, and
connector specifications for the status output signal.

The following condition will cause a Controller unit failure transmit status.
- If both drive units fail when the power is turned on.
- If both drive units are not properly connected when the power is turned on.
- If the correctly functioning drive unit is erroneously replaced when one of the drive units failed.
