Slide the piston down into
the bushing.
16.
Grease the upper 2.5 to 5
cm of the piston rod which
passes through the cylin-
der neck packing piece.

Grease the O-rings (221)
and place on the bushing.
Slide the bushing/piston
rod set into the cylinder
from below. Replace the
O-ring (207) if required.
NOTE:
The O-ring (207) is
required for safe operation
of the pump.
19.
Reassemble the inlet valve
with a new O-ring (227),
seat (212) and ball (214).
The seat can be turned
over and used again on the
other side. Clean the seat
thoroughly.
20.
If a wrench is used, tighten
using the following tor-
ques:
90.8 +/- 6.8 Nm (model
248204, 253056)
108.5 +/- 6.8 Nm (model
248205, 259057,
249059)
If no wrench is used, it
must be ensured that
the inlet valve protrudes
against the cylinder.
21.
Tighten the packing nut
(202) to the adjusting
spacer (228) by using
135.6 +/- 13.5 Nm. Remo-
ve the spacer for neck
adjustment (228) if the
pump seals start to leak
after heavy use. Then
screw the sealing nut
downwards until the leak
stops or decreases. This
allows some additional
378 litres to be processed
before a seal change is
required.
