Ordering DLT Cartridge Labels
Notes:
1. Make sure that the labels are not placed elsewhere on the cartridge
surface.
2. Make sure that the edges of the labels do not curl up; curling causes
the cartridge to stick in the drive loader and the robot to misread the
VOLSER.
3. Use labels that do not leave a residue when removed.
4. Make sure that the label contains a VOLSER and media letter.
Setting the Write-protect Switch
You can set the write-protect switch so that the cartridge is read only (nothing can
be written on the tape). Refer to
, and slide the switch to the left so
that the orange indicator is visible. In this position, the drive can only read data
from the tape and cannot write data.
You can set the write-protect switch so that the cartridge is write enabled. Refer
to
, and slide the switch to the right so that the orange indicator is not
visible. In this position, the drive can write as well as read data. This setting is
recommended when entering cartridges into the LSM.
