tenance and repair work or trou-
bleshooting on the ignition system.
The high voltages can cause
serious or even fatal accidents!

Troubleshooting on the ignition
system should always start with
the spark plug. Refer to the ma-
nual "Troubleshooting, standard
repairs".

Note: The transistorized (breaker-
less) ignition system essentially
comprises the ignition module (1)
and flywheel (2).

- Remove shroud,

Pull terminal off spark plug.

•

Grip leg spring with pliers and
pull it out of the spark plug termi-
nal.

- Unhook leg spring from ignition

lead.

- Slip spark plug terminal off lead.

- Coat end of ignition lead

(approx. 20 mm) with oil.

- Fit spark plug terminal over

ignition lead.

- Grip end of ignition lead with

pliers and pull it out of spark
plug terminal.
