Final Assembly
(continued)
12.
Thread the recommended propellor (EFL9051) onto the output shaft of the gear box.
13.
Feed the motor lead into the opening in the nose of the model. Pass the lead through
former F5, and into the radio compartment. Slide the motor into the nose until it is fully
seated in the motor mount. Friction should be enough to retain the motor, making it easy to
remove, should that be required. If desired, apply a small drop of medium CA to the
front
of
each mounting tab, to secure the motor.
14.
Connect the motor lead to the socket at the
rear
of the receiver brick. Orient the motor lead
with the black wire on the lead closest to the receiver clip.
Landing Gear
15.
Use the length of 1/32 in. wire (supplied in the kit) to bend the landing gear over the pattern
on the
Detail Sheet 1 of 2
. Proceed carefully, as accuracy is important for a proper fit.
16.
Mount the wheels to the landing gear wire. If using the supplied wheels, bend the wire up
90 degrees, to retain the wheel, and trim off the excess. Refer to the
Landing Gear Detail
drawing on
Detail Sheet 1 of 2
. If using the optional 1 1/2 in. wheels (DUB-150ML), trim the
wire about 1/8 in. beyond the outer face of the wheel. To retain the wheels, press one of the
plastic retainers (supplied with the wheels) onto the end of the wire. Ensure that the wheels
turn freely, with no binding.
17.
Slit the covering over the landing gear pocket in the
bottom
of the fuselage. Press the
landing gear wire into the slot. Press part LG3 (sheet 08/08, 1/32 in. ply) into the slot until it
is flush with the fuselage
bottom
. Wick CA along the slot and the points where the wire
exits the slot, to retain the landing gear.
18.
Slit the covering over the slot at the extreme
rear
of the fuselage
bottom
. Press the tail skid
TS (sheet 08/08, 1/32 in. ply) into the slot. Bond with medium CA.
