UNCRATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE:
This equipment weighs approximately 500 lbs (225 kg). Use
a forklift to move equipment.
NOTE: Uncrate on level floor as close to installation site as possible.
1.
Position unit to open cardboard carton from the top. Provide a
clear work area on all sides.
2.
Carefully cut and remove bands from crate (see Figure 2-1).
3.
Discard bands before continuing.
4.
Lift off cardboard top.
5.
Remove nails attaching cardboard to skid.
6.
Pull cardboard carton away from unit. Discard carton.

With dryer still mounted on skid, use a forklift to move dryer to
installation site.
2.
Carefully cut and remove bands securing dryer to skid.
3.
Discard bands before continuing.
4.
Remove and discard cardboard corners and polystyrene wrap
from around unit.
5.
Remove six screws attaching top access panel to unit. Lift
panel away from unit.
6.
Check tip indicator, located inside dryer service compartment
(see Figure 2-2). Tip indicator contains a blue compound at the
bottom of the indicator. If unit has been tipped, residue from the
blue compound will be found higher up in the indicator.
If unit was tipped, notify STERIS regional office. A service
technician will review the equipment and determine if unit was
damaged.
7.
Remove and discard Styrofoam block and skid from under
dryer.

bands, wear eye protection and al-

signed to cut the bands. The bands
used to secure this carton can cause
personal injury when cut and ten-
sion is released.
