● Check plug with a brown & blue wires is not loose.
● Oil change and oil filter replaced highly recommended.
● Check the radiator fins are not obstructed/dirty.
● Check the radiator is not damaged or leaking coolant.

Possible Cause
Check
High Hz/Frequency could indicate the engine is running too fast.
● Using the fuel pump prime button, prime the fuel system
to expel any trapped air within.

If none of the above solve the issue then a closer inspection of the engine would be advised e.g.
check that no-one has adjusted the engine speed - consult an engine specialist.

A
High Engine Temperature
shutdown could be for two main reasons, either the
engine has overheated or the temperature switch or wiring is faulty.
If the temperature gauge shows a high temperature (> 100
⁰C) and the generator is shutting
down with all the above checked, then the issue could be an engine component e.g.
thermostat, water pump etc. - consult an engine specialist.
High Hz/Frequency
The DSE 3110 is displaying the correct no-load frequency but the generator shuts down
with the
Low AC Voltage
icon displayed.

Check for continuity and wiring on the AC 2A reset button
(brown wire from DSE 3110) - Replace if necessary.

● Check main alternator output - AC alternator tests would
be advisable.
Automatic Voltage Regulator -
AVR
● Check all wiring and circuits associated with the AVR.
● Start and run the generator and measure the AC voltage
across the brown & blue wires - this should measure
approximately 115V or 230V AC.

Fault occurs after the
engine has fired
● Check associated wiring from the temperature switch to
the DSE 3110 - Ref. wiring diagram.
Faulty Wiring
● Check the level of the water and antifreeze level - fill with
a 50/50 mix as indicated by the sticker next to the
inspection flap.
CAUTION HOT STEAM CAN BURN!
Radiator
● Check the condition and tension of the fan belt - tighten
or replace if necessary.
