MAINTENANCE MANUAL STEMME S12
7.4.6.2
FUEL SYSTEM IN THE FUSELAGE
See also »Maintenance Manual (Line Maintenance) for ROTAX Engine Type 914 Series”,
section 12-20-00, subsection 2.3, (Annex E).
• Check condition and function of quick release coupling in the main supply line above the
feeder tank.
• Check condition, routing (sufficient support, clearance from moving components, kinks),
tight fit of clamp connections of the main supply line and supply/return line to/from engine.
• Check condition of the steel supply lines and the screw connection for tight fit without
leakage.
See also »Maintenance Manual (Line Maintenance) for ROTAX Engine Type 914 Series«,
section 12-20-00, (Annex E).
• Check fuel pump assy. in LH L/G bay for proper installation, condition and routing of lines
(kinks), for leakage of terminals and check valves and tight fit of clamps.
• Check condition of GFRP mounting, tight attachment of fuel pumps and condition of
electrical connections.
• Check that the drain is sealed properly.
FUNCTION CHECK OF FUEL PUMPS
Perform this function check with wings installed some fuel in both wing tanks, and feeder tank
partly drained (drain feeder tank until low fuel warning is ON):
• Switch master switch on, open and lock nose-cone, switch fuel selector switch to positions
“LEFT”, “BOTH” and “RIGHT”: Wing fuel pumps must operate corresponding to the switch
positions. Low Fuel Warning light must turn out finally.
• Main pump must operate.
• Switch auxiliary fuel pump switch on, auxiliary fuel pump must operate in addition to main
pump. Observe fuel pressure warning light.
• Check fuel shut-off valve and drain valve in LG bay for tight fit and function. After draining,
the drain must close without leakage. If the screw joint of the drain leaks, carefully tighten
the drain. If required, replace affected drain.
• Check for leakages at the feeder tank (Connections, switches, etc.).
• Check firewall penetration assembly of fuel lines for tight fit and for leakage. Check
clearance between air box and firewall penetration assy.
• Check condition and routing (clearance from moving components, kinks) of supply and
return lines inside the engine compartment. Check for tight fit of clamp connections at
firewall penetration and pressure regulator.
• Check condition, routing and tight fit of fuel lines from pressure regulator to both
carburetors, pressure connection hoses (air box, carburetors, pressure sensors) and com-
pensating tube assy. at carburetors.
