Steel 3” [76] surface around the fireplace opening cannot be covered with any finishing materials. Glass and decorative frame will be placed on top for both interior and exterior.
Combustible framing allowed right up to the fireplace below the viewing area only.
A combustible mantel may be placed at the top of the viewing area. Do not overlap glass.
A combustible hearth extension may be used below the viewing area on the interior side and below the outside air vents on the exterior side. Do not overlap glass.
