Initial Operation
Observe correct mains voltage:
The voltage of the
power source must agree with the voltage specified on
the nameplate of the machine.
Switching On and Off
To start the machine, press the
On/Off
switch and keep it
depressed.
Lock the pushed
On/Off
switch by pressing the lockon
button.
To switch off the machine, release the
On/Off
fswitch or
push and release it then.
Work instructions
Removal rate and surface quality are determined by the
speed and grade of the sanding belt. The higher the belt
speed, the more material is removed and the finer the
sanded surface.
Work using the least possible sanding pressure; the
machine’s own weight is sufficient for a good sanding
performance. This gives longer life to the sanding belt,
makes the workpiece surface smoother and reduces the
energy consumption .
Apply the machine to the workpiece only when switched
on. Work with moderate feed and carry out the sanding with
parallel and overlapping strokes. Sand in the directiono f
the grain; sanding across the grain produces an uneven
sanding effect.
The auxiliary handle can be unscrewed if it should restrict
the sanding area.
Particularly when sanding coats of varnish, it is possible
that these melt and smear the surface of the workpiece
and the sanding belt. Therefore sanding dust must be
extracted as described under “Dust Extraction”.
Worn, clogged or torn sanding belts can damage the
workpiece. The sanding belts should therefore be changed
in good time.
• Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
• For safe and proper working, always keep the machine
and the ventilation slots clean.
Remove any clogged sanding dust with a paintbrush.
From time to time remove the protective cap and clean the
dust passage so that the suction performance remains at
an optimum leveL.
If the machine should fail despite the care taken in
manufacturing and testing procedures , repair should be
carried out by an after-sales service centre for STAYER
power tools.
Technical data
The values given are valid for nominal voltages [U] of
230/240 V ~ 50/60 Hz - 110/120 V ~ 60 Hz. For lower
voltage and models for specific countries, these values
can vary.
Please observe the article number on the type pl ate of
your machine. The trade names of the individual machines
may vary.
Measured values determined according to EN 62841-1
Disposal
The machine, accessories and packaging should be
sorted for environmental-friendly recycling.
Only for EC countries:
Do not dispose of power tools into household waste!
According the European Guideline 2012/19/
UE for Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment and its implementation into
national right, power tools that are no longer
usable must be collected separately and
disposed of in an environmentally correct
manner.
Subject to change without notice.
