5.7.3.2 - Cam mounting and index positioning

Lubricate the cam shaft (1) as well as the housing located between the 2 disks of each cam
with oil
(See "Table of equivalent oils and greases", page 41)
.
ATTENTION
Prior to reassembly, check that the cams are not damaged or oxidised.
All damanged cams must be replaced.
ATTENTION
The spacer (6) is placed next to the spot facing of the cam (3).

Thread the cams (3) onto the cam shaft (1) in the following order: cam no. 1, cam no. 2, etc.
by placing the disks bearing the inscription corresponding to the desired weave (inscription
downwards) facing the indexing plate (4).

Insert the index (5) into the cam (3) notch.
Note :
In all cases, the indexes (5) of the cams (3) must be positioned before the rods (2),
considering the direction of rotation as being clockwise.

Place the indexes of the cams fully against the rods corresponding to the shaded boxes on
the indexing drawing, according to the indexing direction B:
