13.2 PA/FOG OPERATION
The RAM+ is capable of controlling the 30W Public address, 4 fog horns, bells and
whistles.
13.2.1 Operating the PA / Hailer
1. Press and hold the [NAV] key then select “PUBLIC ADRESS” with the [p] or [q] key.
2. Press the [CALL] key.
3. Press the PTT switch and speak into the microphone.
4. To turn up the PA Volume, press the PTT switch and press the [p] or [q] keys to adjust
the Audio output level. The level can be set from 0 to 30W.
5. To adjust the listen back volume, (while in listen-back mode) press the [VOL] Key,
then press the [p] or [q] key to the desired listen back volume.
To exit from the PA / Hailer mode, press and hold down the [NAV] key again.
13.2.2 Operating the FOG Horn
The GX5000S/GX5500S is capable of sending Underway, Stop, Sail, Tow, Horn, Siren,
Aground and Anchor signals.
To exit from the FOG HORN m1. Press and hold the [NAV] key then select “FOG” with
the [p] or [q] key.
2. Press the [CALL] key.
3. Select the one of the eight functions described above with the [p] or [q] key and press
the [CALL] key.
4. On the “Horn” and “Siren” modes, press the PTT switch to activate the tone through
the HAIL/PA speaker.
