Mounting lugs for rail size 1 and 2
To attach a lug, 2 screw and washer assemblies must be replaced by a lug at the
corresponding clamping point.
- Remove 2 adjacent screws.
- Break out the bar using a wire cutter.
- Attach the lug using the enclosed screws and spring washers.
8.5
Back-Up Fuse
• Provide suitable back-up fuses, see chapter 5 "Technical Data".
8.6
Back-up Fuses for Auxiliary Circuits
• Basically, auxiliary circuits must be short-circuit protected using 10 A gG.
8.7
Intrinsically safe circuits
• In intrinsically safe circuits only insulated cables and conductors with a test voltage of
AC 500 V and a minimum quality of HO5 are permitted.
• The diameter of individual conductors must not be less than 0.1 mm; this also applies
to the individual wires of finely stranded conductors.
• Ex i electric circuits are connected to blue terminal blocks.
• The overload protection of the consumers must be performed independently of the
back-up fuse.

Commissioning
Before commissioning, ensure that:
X
no components are damaged
X
the device has been installed according to regulations
X
all detachable connections have been tightened firmly
X
the prescribed tightening torques have been observed
X
the seals are not damaged
X
the connection has been performed correctly
X
the conductors are clamped properly
X
there are no foreign bodies inside the device
X
unused bores in the enclosure are sealed with R. STAHL stopping plugs Series 8290
X
unused cable entries are sealed with R. STAHL plugs Series 8161

Operation
10.1 Function
Safety switches ensure the obligatory isolation of energy supply during cleaning and
repair work at the machines and installations. Usual preparatory work such as removal of
fuses or disconnection of motors, which can be performed only by electrically skilled
persons, is no longer required.
WARNING
Check the device before commissioning!
To ensure correct operation, check the device before commissioning.
