Leaving all special functions and re-activation of the previous mode
by pressing the mode-button.
6.4 play
= replay a stored DMX Frame
A DMX512 frame (output signal) stored before with the record
function (chapter 6.3) is represented constantly.
!
The outputs 1 and 5 may have a special configuration, see
chapter 5.3.1.
An automatic activation at missing DMX512 input signal is also
possible. See chapter 5.4.6, cue on DMX512 error. This function is
valid for all modes transmitting Idle-Mode at a missing DMX512
Signal.
7. RETIMER
The DMX512 data are processed by the SP218UXL interface with
an optimal and standard compliant DMX512 timing (as
recommended in USITT DMX512A, American National Standard
E1.11–2004 / 8.11 table 6 & 7 and DIN 56930-2 / 4.4.1.).
This means a DMX512 receiver must be able to accept:
44 frames per second, no additional bit between the bytes [slots],
no additional time between the frames [packets].
Unfortunately, there are DMX512 devices on the market marked
with DMX512 but are not able to receive and to process a DMX512
signal with an optimal and standard-compliant timing. This results in
flickering and black outs.
In this case the SP218UXL includes a RETIMER section to adjust
the DMX512 timing to slower DMX devices or makes
synchronisation possible.
The setup of the parameters is described in chapter 5.4.3. The
display shows u; U (µs) or F (frames / second) dependence of the
choice. A capital „U“ is for additional time between packets (MBB =
Mark before Break). (see chapter 7.2, RETIMER Table)
The DMX512 signal with a changed timing can be alternatively
carried out on outputs 8, 7 and 6. How to set the number of outputs
1,2 or 3 is shown in chapter 5.3.2.
