1. Functional description
The SP218UXL is not only a distributor and amplifier
(splitter/booster) for DMX512 Signals using two inputs and eight
outputs. It is the new version of the older SP218U model,
technically optimised and equipped with new functions. As the
predecessor model the SP218UXL includes a merger with HTP or
LTP option, but now with an adjustable start address for Input B.
New modes and features:

RETIMER for the justification, synchronization and reduction
of the DMX512 timing

Adjustable number of outputs with RETIMER

Output 1 / 5 can either be connected to input A / B directly
(THRU) or via output driver (boost) or following mode

Test functions available, e.g. select channel and adjust value

Cue record and play and replay on request, ...

two DMX512 universes over an input connector (IN A)
-
USB connection to the visualization of all DMX512 channels
on a PC, inclusive of some error indications for the DMX512
signal and outer disturbing influences on the SP218UXL
(optional).

A Patch is programmable on request. (free combination of
any channels from input A / B to output 1-4 / 5-8.

plug connectors are available as Neutrik XLR 5 or 3 pole or
RJ45. (RJ45 wiring is selectable by Jumper, mixing of 5 and
3 pole XLR is possible on inquiry).
Due to the extended performance range the SP218UXL has got
another three 7-segment displays and push buttons, these are
exclusively on the back and are used for special presettings. The
modes can be selected or adjusted like till now with single display
and push button on front and back.
Furthermore the SP218UXL is still equipped with removable 19 inch
flanges. Changing the flange position makes it possible installing
the SP218UXL into an 19 inch rack either with XLR connectors or
user panel to front or rear side. A desktop use is possible, too.
