IMMOBILIZER INDICATOR

This indicator comes on when the igni-
tion key is communicating with the en-
gine control unit (during engine starting)
for 0.5 seconds.

The time needed for communication
between the immobilizer key and

ECU can vary. When the time is very short, the immobilizer
indicator does not come on.

SSPS WARNING LIGHT

This warning light comes on when the
SSPS system is defective. When this
warning light comes on, the steerability
becomes heavier.

What is SSPS?

Speed Sensitive Power Steering (SSPS) is the device that pro-
vides good driving condition and steering stability by making
the steerability heavier in high-speed driving, and lighter in stop
or low-speed driving.

If this indicator blinks, it may indicate that there is something wrong
in the immobilizer system. Have the system checked by a
Ssangyong Dealer or Ssangyong Authorized Service Center.

CAUTION

If the SSPS warning light comes on or when you feel the steering
wheel heavy, have the SSPS system checked by Ssangyong Dealer
or Ssangyong Authorized Service Operation.

CAUTION

ESP WARNING LIGHT

If you press the ESP

OFF

 switch, the

ESP function stops and the indicator
lamp in the instrument cluster comes
on. If the ESP function operates, the
indicator lamp flickers.

If the ESP warning light is on without

any deactivation of the system, there are some malfunctions
in the system. Take the vehicle to an authorized dealer or
service operation.

For more information about ESP (Electronic Stability
Program), refer to Chapter 4.

The indicator comes on when the
Winter mode (W) switch near the
gear selector lever is pressed.

Use this mode to drive off smoothly
on an icy and slippery road.
