Assembly of the add-on components
Now mount the missing components on the handlebars (e.g. speedometer).
In order to keep the screw tightening torque low and still prevent the components from twisting, use the supplied assembly paste when
mounting all components.
Warning
Sharp-edged, unfavourably designed
and badly placed components, as well
as those which are to be mounted on
the handlebars with a bolt tightening
torque greater than 6 Nm, can cause
fibre cracks, notches and constric-
tions.
• Do not mount any components other
than the shift/brake levers which
are clamped in the bends of the
handlebars.
• Avoid the assembly of such compo-
nents.
Warning
Unfavourably designed clamping mechanisms of some add-on components are not
compatible with our carbon handlebars. Despite compliance with the screw tigh
tening forces, fibre tears and de-laminations may occur. Never use components with
the following characteristics:
• Asymmetrical clamping slot
• Internal clamping slot
• Segment clamping
Fig.: Asymmetrical clamping, closed clamping rings with internal clamping slot and segment
clamping..
Warning
Even a short ride with one or more loose screws in the stem or on the add-on compo-
nents can damage the handlebars so much that they can no longer be safely used.
• Never ride with a loose handlebar
