To read the contents of PLC ASCII string files:
1. Select item 1 from the Special Menu to access the P-A/D function.
You are prompted for a file type:

3. Enter the ASCII string file number, word or element address and the
starting (1 to 81). The starting character specifies the first character in the
string to be displayed followed by the remaining characters (up to the
82nd character).
Note: In order to maintain boundary addressing, only odd starting
characters are allowed. If an even value is entered the DTAM Plus will
change the value down to the next lower odd number.
You are shown the value beginning at the starting character:

The Len field displays the string length in a decimal format. Up to 60
characters of the string are displayed on lines 2, 3, and 4. Strings longer
than 60 characters are truncated.
