Troubleshooting RXT Drives
When drive power is cycled, RXT drives automatically run self-diagnostic tests,
checking memory and sensors, and performing motor tests to ensure that the drive is
functioning within normal parameters. If RXT media is loaded in the RXT drive, it also
brings the RXT media to a ready state.
An RXT drive has a digital display that consists of a 14-segment single-character display
(SCD) and a light-emitting diode (LED), as shown in Figure 9-5:

The Display gives the most detailed and useful information on the drive using various
flash codes in the form of letters, numbers, and symbols. See the table on page 95 for
detailed information on RXT flash codes.
