Updating LTO Drive Firmware
Before you can update tape drive firmware, you need to obtain a firmware upgrade
tape from Spectra Logic.
To update LTO drive firmware, follow these steps:
Caution:
Stop all backup operations before upgrading firmware.
1.
Press the eject button (Figure 6-1) three times until a
0
appears on the SCD.
2.
Press the eject button again until a
2
appears on the SCD.
3.
Press the eject button for three seconds until the flashing
C
appears in the SCD.
4.
Load the firmware code tape. It auto ejects when the update is finished.
