Chapter 2 - Installation Checklists
Use these checklists to ensure the BlackPearl NAS solution is prepared for installation and to
record important information during installation.
Preparing for Installation
Status Description

The system components have acclimated to the site’s temperature for at least 24 hours in
its packaging (see
Acclimating the Spectra BlackPearl NAS Solution on page 18 ).
r The rack is prepared for installation (see Preparing the Rack on page 18 ).
r
The system components are unpacked (see Unpacking the Spectra BlackPearl NAS
Solution on page 20 ).
r
The component inventory is complete (see Inventorying the Components on page 26 ).
Installing the Spectra BlackPearl NAS Solution
Status Description

The components are installed on a sturdy work surface, or in a rack (see Installing the
Spectra BlackPearl NAS Solution in a Rack on page 35 ).
r The interface cables are connected (see Connecting the Interface Cables on page 54 ).
r
The power cables are connected and the system is powered on (see Powering On the
Spectra BlackPearl NAS Solution ).
r The front bezel is installed (see Installing the Front Bezel on page 57 ).
