Installing an HBA in the Master Node
Ensure ESD Protection
The installation environment for the system must be free of conditions that could cause
electrostatic discharge (ESD).
To protect the system from ESD, follow these procedures when
installing the system:
• Place a static protection mat on the work surface used while installing system
components. Use a 1-megohm resistor to ground the static protection mat.
• Wear a static protection wristband or grounding footstrap whenever you handle system
components that have been removed from their
anti-static bags. Connect the wristband to the static protection mat or to other suitable
ESD grounding.
Note:
Keep all electronic components in anti-static bags when not in use.
Install an HBA
1.
Remove the cover.

Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the four screws that secure the cover to the
chassis. Three screws are located on the sides of the chassis, while one is located on the
top.
b.
Slide the cover toward the rear of the chassis to remove it.
