Automatic Operation
Prior to operating your system in Automatic Mode, ensure that a valid recipe is loaded
into the Recipe screen and that all Manual Mode functions are disabled.
To begin automatic operation of your freeze dryer:
1.
Insert product probes, if desired, and load the prepared product into the
chamber.
2.
Verify that the chamber door(s) and any valves are closed.
3.
Ensure that all Manual Mode functions are turned off and all alarms have
been cleared.
4.
Verify that all Configuration and Alarm settings are appropriate for your
application.
5.
Press
Profile
to verify that your recipe temperature trend line appears correct.
6.
Press
Synoptic
to return to the Synoptic screen.
7.
Press
Start
. The vacuum system will energize and evacuate the system to a
preseal value of approximately 500 Torr, 500 mbar or 50 kPa. If vacuum does
not reach the preseal value within the allotted time, an alarm will trigger. If this
happens, stop the process, check all valves and gaskets and restart
automatic operation.
8.
Your system will follow the selected recipe until the Secondary Drying phase
is complete. You can terminate the process at any time by pressing
Stop
followed by
F2
.
9.
When the system shuts down, vacuum will automatically release to the
Backfill Pressure setpoint or atmospheric pressure (see Maintenance
Settings).
10.
If the system is backfilled, stopper the product and press the manual
Vac
Release
button. This will release vacuum to atmospheric pressure.
11.
Open the system and remove your product.
12.
Press the
Defrost
button to defrost the condenser.
13.
When defrosting is complete, remove the condensate and rinse and dry the
chamber and condenser surfaces.
