To set the timer for your computer to automatically enter
Hibernate
mode after a certain amount of time,
open
Power Options
in the
Control Panel
.
To activate
Hibernate
mode manually, use one of these two methods:
Use the Windows
®
taskbar:

Save your work.

From the
Start
menu on the Windows
®
taskbar, select
Shut Down.

Select
Hibernate
.

Click
OK
.
The computer goes into
Hibernate
mode, the computer turns off.
Use the power button:
Quickly press the power button on the front of the main unit.
The computer goes into
Hibernate
mode, the computer turns off.
To return to Normal mode, choose from the following:
Press the
Standby
button on the keyboard.
Operation returns to the same state as before.
Press one of the PPK buttons on the keyboard and launch straight into your favorite application.
Quickly press the power button on your computer.
Operation returns to the same state as before.
You can leave Windows
®
running when using
Hibernate
.
If you press the power button for more than four seconds, the computer will switch off completely.
When the computer is in
Hibernate
mode, you cannot insert a disc.
Hibernate
uses less power than
Standby
.
Hibernate
requires more time than
Standby
.
