7. Connect the unit to the network.
Tip
If the unit is not placed in DHCP environment, change the setting to fit your network environment.
When you change the setting, restore the setting to DHCP after completion of the work.
8. Open [System] in [System and Security] of [Control Panel].
9. Open [View details in Windows Activation].
10. Click [Activate].
11. Open [System] screen, and then make sure that Windows is activated normally.
Tip
When Windows is updated normally, “Windows is activated” is displayed in [Windows activation].
Windows cannot be activated when the date is incorrect. Correct the settings of the date.
Tip
For some network environment, you need to set proxy to connect to the Microsoft license server.
Proxy is set in the following procedure.
(1) Start the command prompt with administrative privileges.
(2) Execute the next command.
netsh winhttp set proxy proxy-server=”xxxx:yyyy”
(xxxx: proxy server, yyyy: port number)
Note
Remove the proxy setting after completion of the activation.
To remove the setting, execute the next command.
netsh winhttp reset proxy
12. Disconnect the network cable.
Note
When you changed the network setting, restore the setting to DHCP.
13. Open the following folder by Windows Explorer.
C:\Program Files\Sony\tools\player_settings
14. Right-click [set_settings] (Type: Windows Batch File), and then click [Run as administrator].
