7.6 Troubleshooting of the hoisting system
(1) Set the AUTO/MANUAL selector switch in the relay box of the hoisting system to
“MANUAL”.
(Note) The operation of the hoisting system only (in the manual mode) is described below.
When the hoisting system functions properly in the manual operation, but does not function
properly when it is operated by the computing unit (the AUTO/MANUAL switch is set to
“AUTO”), please check the cable (CB560) and the computing unit.
(2) Ascending and/or descending motions

1. Is the power turned on?
Single phase AC 100V: Check the LED of the board
to confirm if the power is turned on.
Three-phase AC 220V: Check the terminal block to
confirm if the power is turned on.
Turn on the power.
2. Does the ascending DC relay on the board function?
3. Confirm the wire connections of the three-phase AC
200V.
Replace two wires.
4. Does the limit switch in the manual handle box
function (ON)?
Adjust the set screw.
5. Is the thermal relay activated?
Refer to C) below.
A) The hoist does not
ascend or descend
when the UP or
DOWN switch is

the click sound be heard when pushed by hand)?
Adjust the limit switch.
1. Are there any broken wires in the wiring (external
wiring) to the motor?
B) The
electromagnetic
switch is functioning,
but the hoist does
not ascend or
descend.
2. Is the surface temperature of the motor moderate
(approx. 50
°
C)?
If it is too hot, refer to C)
below.
1. Is the set value of the thermal relay in accordance
with the motor specifications (the rated current
specified on the nameplate of the motor)?
(Note) Do not set a value larger than the rated
current of the motor; otherwise, the motor may be
burned.
2. Is there any rust or an extremely bent portion at the
drive unit (sprocket; chain; feed screw)? Does the
motor rotate independently (with the chain removed)?
C) The hoist moves
slightly (or does not
move) and the
thermal relay is
activated.
3. Can the hoist be raised or lowered using the manual
handle (when the ship is in a standstill state)?
The hoist can be moved,
It is very heavy →
This hoist does not move at all →
Loosen the gland and try
