PURE SINE VOLTAGE CONVERTER
The appliance produces pure sinusoidal mains voltage if 12V DC is available
● 12V DC → 230V ~ AC (50 Hz) inverter ● ideal for both motor driven and sensitive equipment ● recommended for use with heating
circulation pumps ● useful companion on trips, while traveling… ● use in vehicles, on boats, at campsites... ● USB quick charger socket
(5V/2.1A) ● overload protection ● overheating protection ● surge protection ● short circuit protection ● battery discharge protection ● child
lock in the mains socket ● intended for connection to and installation next to a battery
APPLICATION
The appliance largely differs from most conventional, cheaper voltage transformers. They are not capable of producing a true sinusoidal output voltage.
Therefore, they are not optimal for the operation of certain devices or may cause damage to them even.
This model produces pure sinusoidal AC voltage that features the “quality” and specifications of the voltage available from the mains sockets of homes.
This makes it ideal for the operation of any, even sensitive equipment. It is especially recommended for devices with state-of-the-art control electronics
and/or electric motors, such as pumps, compressors, heaters and coolers, fans, electric shavers, drilling machines…
Pure sinusoidal inverters have a higher current consumption and therefore require a large capacity battery and more careful operation than simple
models producing non-pure sinusoid wave. Continuous operation may not be guaranteed with vehicles having a smaller generator or battery, or it may
be subject to the continuous charging of the battery. Consult a specialist if necessary.
For example, the current consumption of the SAI 1000TS model, when operated at 1000W rated power, is about 105A, while the current consumption
of a non-pure sinusoidal inverter is about 85A. The standby current consumption is about 1.5A. The recommended battery capacity is 150Ah. You have
to take care about charging accordingly.
The USB socket is suitable for quick charging, its maximum load is 5V / 2.1A.
Pure sine wave
It is recommended for all devices, especially the sensitive ones:
● LED TV ● brushless motors ● washing machines ● sewing machines ● laser
printers ● copiers ● thyristor driven and SCR controlled products ● fluorescent light
sources with electronic ballast ● some digital watches ● microprocessor controlled
equipment ● some chargers for hand tools and laptops ● inverter equipment ● control
electronics…
CHECKING THE OUTPUT VOLTAGE
The signal shape of the supply voltage produced by the inverter is perfect sine wave. You can obtain accurate measurement results with any standard
Voltmeter.
Modified sine wave
It is not ideal for all devices; usually usable:
● simple devices ● less sensitive audio devices ● old CRT televisions ● carbon brush
motors ● digital watches, battery chargers depending on the model ● large motors can
consume up to 30% more energy ● properly functioning devices may become hotter and
their service life may shorten ● some audio devices and fans may work noisier
CHECKING THE OUTPUT VOLTAGE
The signal shape of the supply voltage produced by the inverter is modified sine wave. You can obtain accurate measurement results using a TRUE
RMS Voltmeter only. Any other instrument type can measure up to 20-30 Volts less than the actual value.
COMMISSIONING
1. Mount the inverter on a flat, stable surface in a ventilated area. Do not expose it to the heat of sunlight or other heat sources. Do not operate it in the
vicinity of flammable gases or materials.
2. Unscrew and remove the plastic screws of the red and black connectors on the back of the appliance, then use them to secure the ends of the
supplied cables. Tighten the screws firmly by hand to achieve perfect contacts. Always connect a cable of the same colour as the connector.
3. Fasten the ring connectors on the other end of the cables to the positive and negative terminals of the battery. In some cases, you may need to buy
suitable battery connectors. To ensure proper contact, the connection must be tight. If you find two red and two black connection cables in the inverter
box, they must be connected in parallel to the inverter and the battery observing the colours. That is, you need to use all four connection cables
simultaneously (e.g., SAI 500TS). If the package contains only one red and one black connection cable, it is safe to use these only.
4. Connect the mains driven appliance (turned off) you want to operate to the socket with contact protection on the front panel. Be careful not to exceed
the permitted rated power.
5. Start the engine of the vehicle to make its generator charge the battery.
6. Switch on the inverter using the toggle switch on the front panel:
ON
.
7. Turn on the mains driven device you want to operate when the green LED is on. If you connect multiple devices, turn them on one by one.
8. After use, switch off the mains driven device first and only then the inverter (
OFF
position). Remove the connecting cables.
