Do not expose the appliance to dripping or splashing liquid, and do not
place objects filled with liquid on it, such as a vase.
IMPORTANT WARNINGS
In addition to the careful attention payed on quality standards, safety was
also an important factor in the design process of every set-top boxes. Ho-
wever, security is your responsibility, too. The following list contains impor-
tant information to help you to use the set-top box and its accessories on
the correct way.
INSTALLATION
1. Reading and following the warnings – Before using the appliance, read all
of the safety warnings. Keep these warnings in every case.
2. Retaining the warnings – Retain the safety warnings, later you might
need them.
3. Acting according to the warnings– Keep the safety warnings.
4. Polarization – Some appliances are distributed together with polarized
AC power cords. These power cords can be used with corresponding type
connectors. If necessary, have electrical outlets replaced by an electrician.
The power cord should only be used with a power outlet, extension cord,
distributor in which the forks of the power cord can fully be inserted in wit-
hout being left loose.
5. Power sources – The device should only be operated from a power sour-
ce conforming to the information label on the rear panel. If you are not sure
of the electrical parameters of your home, consult a specialist.
6. Overloading – Be careful not to overload the used wall sockets or ext-
ension cords as this may result in fire or electric shock. Overloaded connec
-
tors, cracked insulated cables, broken terminals are potential sources of
hazard, can cause fire or electric shock. Regularly inspect your wiring and
consult a technician if necessary.
7. Power cord protection– Prevent the power cord from being stepped on or
getting broken, especially at the connecting parts of the appliance and the
branchings of the power plugs. Make sure that the electrical connector is
easily accessible and if needed, immediately accessible for such devices,
which do not have a separate power switch.
8. Ventilation – The vents on the appliance housing are designed to ensure
proper ventilation of the unit and to prevent it from overheating. Please,
never cover these openings with any objects placed on or near the device.
Only place the appliance in a well-ventilated area and do not place it betwe-
en different kinds of shelves or inside cabinets, unless proper ventilation of
the appliance and heat dissipation during operation are ensured.
9. Accessories – Use only accessories approved by the manufacturer.
10. Water and humidity – Do not use the appliance near humidity, such as
bathtubs, washbasins, kitchen sinks: do not place the appliance into damp
rooms, e.g. a swimming pool or a similar place. Please, pay attention to
safety. For an appliance or accessory supplied with a a power cord, use
only devices that have been marked with the appropriate safety certificates.
Modifications to these devices are prohibited if the endanger safe operation.
If you need advice, consult a qualified technician if necessary.
11. Accessories – Do not place the appliance on an unstable trolley, stand,
tripod, shelf or table. The product may fall and cause serious injury. Use
only the accessories approved by the manufacturer for storing the applian-
ce. When installing the mounting the device, always follow the manufactu

rer’s instruction and always use accessories approved by the manufacturer
or the accessory manufacturer. Contact the distributor if you need advice.
11a. Take extra care when using the appliance placed on a roller stand.
Avoid sudden stops, uneven surfaces, and other obstructions that could
cause the tip-over of the bracket, personal injury or malfunction of the
equipment.
12. Grounding outdoor antenna – In case of using an outdoor antenna,
make sure that the antenna is properly grounded to provide protection from
static electricity that may accumulate.
13. Electric wires – Installing an outdoor antenna system is not recommend-
ed nearby electric wires, other electric lighting or electrical network, and at
places where the antenna might get into contact with or fall on such wires.
Outdoor access or touching is strictly prohibited and is life-threatening. Ins-
talling an outdoor antenna is a dangerous operation and we recommend
you to have it installed by a qualified technician.
Use
14. Cleaning – Unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet before clea-
ning. Do not use chemicals, only a slightly dampened soft cloth to clean the
cover of the appliance.
15. To prevent the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance
to water or other moisture.
16. Lightning – Unplug the power cable from the outlet by the time of storm
or lightning, and if you are not planning to use the appliance for an extended
period of time, remove also antenna cable from it. This will prevent the unit
from getting damaged by a lighting strike.
Repair
17. Repair – Never attempt to repair the appliance at home. Removing the
cover will expose you to the risk of a serious, life-threatening electric shock
and will invalidate any warranty applicable to the device. Any repairs should
only be carried out by qualified service personnel.
18. State requires service – Unplug your appliance from the power supply
and contact a qualified service provider under the following conditions:
a. If the power cable of the appliance is damaged
b. If the appliance is exposed to moisture or objects are trapped inside it
c. If liquid has leaked into the appliance
d. If the unit does not operate as described in the operating instructions.
Only make settings on this machine that are described in this manual. Other
settings may not work properly and it may take a long time for the appliance
to function properly.
e. If the unit has been dropped and the cover has been damaged
f. If there is a significant change in the device performance. If any of the
above listed points applies, contact a qualified service center
19. Replacement parts – Only replacement parts that are approved by the
manufacturer or an authorized service center may be used for service pur-
poses. Using of replacement parts from other sources may cause malfuncti-
on or personal injury to the unit and void the warranty applicable to this unit.
20. Heat sources – Do not expose the appliance to radiating heat. Do not
store the appliance nearby devices that emit significant heat (such as radi

ators, amplifiers, etc.)
21. Mounting on wall or ceiling – The device may only be mounted on wall
surfaces or accessories as recommended by the manufacturer or distribu-
tor, applying any other mounting manners may cause personal injury or the
malfunction of the appliance.
22. The design, functions and accessories of this device may differ from
what is described in this manual without prior notice. If there is a difference,
always the concrete product can be considered as the final version.
23. The Hungarian DVB-T broadcasts are optimized for roof antenna, good
quality television reception is provided only in case of properly set, suitable
broadband roof antenna and good quality cabling. In case of reception prob
-
lems, consult an antenna technician or consult your broadcaster.
24. The list of formats that can be played with the device’s media player
function is only informative. Files with particular codec and compression
settings may not be playable even if they are in supported file format by
your device. The list of supported file types is subject to change without
prior notice during firmware upgrade.
INITIAL STEPS
First installation:
After the unit is switched on for the first time, the unit displays the Init Install
menu. You can select between the OSD Language, Country, LCN options
with the navigation buttons.
Select the appropriate menu with the navigation buttons, and select from
the options. Accept the selected option by pressing the remote control’s
„OK” button. In case of the LCN option is switched on, the device sorts
the channels according to the channel assignment defined by the service
provider. Select the „Next” menu to start station search.
