paraglider. The system may not be adjusted too short or too long. A careful inspection
is required, e.g. in a simulator at a flight school.
The line length of the Separable Speed System AS can be adjusted with the help of a
harness simulator. With fully stretched legs, the speed system of the paraglider should
be 100% functional. That is to say, when the pilots legs are fully stretched out, the pul-
leys on the risers of the paraglider should touch one another. It must be guaranteed,
however, that the speedbar lines are sufficiently long and the glider is not accelerated
by unused speedbar. It is better to initially adjust the speedbar a bit too long and then
gradually approach the optimal adjustment. Accelerate in flight only with adequate dis-
tance from the ground and in calm air conditions.
adjustment of the leg Stirrups
The overall concept of the CULT3 is based upon flying with the Leg Stirrups (simplifies
getting into the seated position after launch, unburdons the legs during flight and sup-
ports the CULT3 during weight shift).
The Leg Stirrups should therefore be adjusted only after all other harness adjustments
have been made.
The adjustment of the Leg Stirrups depends upon body type, personal preference and
flying style. The adjustments should be made before the first flight while sitting in the
harness simulator. The fine adjustments can follow bit by bit after the first flights. This
system must also be tested in the harness simulator for compatibility with release of
the rescue.
Shoulder Straps
The optimal adjustment depends upon
the body position of the pilot. Stand-
ing upright with harness on, with loose-
ly closed chest straps and symmetrical
leg straps, the shoulder straps should
be pulled until they begin to tension. The
CULT3 should not interfere with launch
procedure.
